I see a lot of ads on the internet that say “saddle horse for sale” but I don’t really know what that means.

A horse that you can just go for a ride. Not necessarily a show horse. Kind of a barnyard horse.

  1. “Saddle horse” can have two meanings: generically, a horse that is broken to ride under saddle (as opposed to a horse that’s broken to drive).

    It can have the more specific meaning of a gaited horse like a Saddlebred: http://www.asha.net/

  2. A saddle horse is a type of horse they are gaited that means they have a smooth ride to them and they don’t trot like paints and quarter horses
