Question by Emsanity: Judge my “web design”?
I’m currently working on my portfolio page, and this is what I have thus far;
http://www.23hq.com/Emsanity/photo/5590913/original

This is just the splash page. The other pages won’t be too different, so this page will suffice. I’ve designed it for 800×600 (as indicated by the central middle square). I would like the harshest critiques you yahoo’ers can cook up please.

Kthnx.

P.S. As a side note, I also want to know whether I communicated the term “graphics” well enough. If not, what should I do to improve the message?
Thanks so far for the input guys. 🙂 I do agree, graffx comes up more as graffiti and, to some people, the x doesn’t translate at all.

Some also dislike the color scheme, and think it gives a sorta childish feeling to the portfolio. What do you guys think about this?

i like the color blocks and the font. don’t get what’s up with the de->sign. make that normal. your font should also probably be a bit darker than the background, or what it is. the colors in “graffix” are funny though i understand what you’re trying to do. maybe you could keep the colors but change the font. change the color of the “FF”s though because it fades in. it’s interesting but i don’t get the feel for what kind of graphics you are doing-animations, graphic design, advertisement, web design. the word “graphics” should portray a particular use more.

overal good. just make some tweeks
