Why do some libs only mention Bush destabilizing Iraq but not the Congresspeople who voted for the war?

Question by me: Why do some libs only mention Bush destabilizing Iraq but not the Congresspeople who voted for the war?
Democrats who voted for the war:
House: 81/208 http://clerk.house.gov/evs/2002/roll455.xml
Senate: 30/51 http://www.senate.gov/legislative/LIS/roll_call_lists/roll_call_vote_cfm.cfm?congress=107&session=2&vote=00237#position

Example: H. Clinton’s speech: http://clinton.senate.gov/speeches/iraq_101002.html

“Today we are asked whether to give the President of the United States authority to use force in Iraq should diplomatic efforts fail to dismantle Saddam Hussein’s chemical and biological weapons and his nuclear program.”

  1. Boo Hoo Bill says:

libs don’t think they just blame Bush for everything

hey notyou– grow up and quit blaming

  2. notyou311 says:

The Dems who voted for the war did so because they were lied to by the Bush administration. They couldn’t imagine that the Pres and his cabinet would lie about WMD. Even Colin Powell was deceived and his career was ruined.

  3. imnogeniusbutt says:

You are right that there is plenty of blame to go around.
But, Dubya and Rummy are responsible for administrating this mess. The political wrangling that gave them authority isn’t what has screwed everything up in Iraq.

STAY THE COURSE!!!!!! 10 troops killed today…69 so far this month; worst month since 1/05….so what….STAY THE COURSE!!!!!

  6. birdsnakecatharine says:

    Shhhh.
Democrats don’t want people to know that they voted for the war.
Then they betrayed the country and surrendered.

  7. stephaniemariewalksonwater says:

For the millionth time, because as President of this country it is ultimately his responsibility. He knew he was using false intelligence and the people who voted didnt.
Does that explain it for you? Do you want a connect the dots book? Maybe a map?

  8. lamoviemaven says:

Here’s the problem. Bush only gave Congress the intel he wanted them to see. This continued long after the vote for war was conducted. In “State of Denial” Woodward discovered a Secret document given to Bush in May of 2006 which said the insurgency would get much worse in 2007. Congress was never given this report. Instead, 2 days later, they were given a declassified report. It’s conclusion? That the insurgency would get weaker in 2007. If Bush isn’t going to give Congress false information, you can’t blame Congress for making poor decisions as a result.

Democrats thought it was a good idea on the information that was given to them. The facts were wrong. I’m sure the Republican party would like to take some of there votes back as well.

The info that was given was that Iraq was horboring terrorists and that Saddam has WMD. Neither occurred. If someone should be blamed it should be our leader who ok’d it.

It is quite easy to be a coward! A “turn-back”! A screamer, “we can’t do it”! “The sky is falling, the sky is falling”! Where are the people who have guts and are willing to stand with the President of the U.S.A. to victory?

  11. sprcpt says:

The congress was lied to by Bush along with the rest of the country and as such voted for the war with fraudulent information as a basis.

  12. HELLVIS! says:

How about those who voted AGAINST the war in Iraq? I won’t rely on republicans to give me that information, I found it myself. And democrats Levin and Stabenow in MY state (I can only vote for my reps, why would I care about other’s?) voted AGAINST it. And they will get my vote again. They represented the will of the people, and didn’t cowtow to politics. Why don’t you mention those people? They are the ones who are truly against the Bush adminitsration…

  13. tom l says:

Congress was given the same bogus information that we were.
Your head been hiding in the sand again???

But by all means let’s “stay the course”,,,,,,,,,, damn I wish someone would say what the course is. Talk about the Democrats not having a plan ! ! Geez

  14. rec says:

Congress clearly did not perform the responsibility they have under the Constitution. The framers of our consitution did not create congress just to have it be a rubber stamp for the President. However, it was Bush who wanted the war and began planning it right after 9/11. Bush made no good faith effort to use diplomatic efforts to deal with Saddam.

  15. nebtet says:

hmmm what makes you think “libs” don’t hold Congress accountable for creating a presidential dictatorship? Congress has been rubber stamping Bush admins corrupt idiocy for the past 6 years. the “Patriot’s” Act virtually morphed our checks and balanced government into a monarchy. GW Bush can do anything he wants to any one of us now that Congress has allowed him to do away with habeous corpus and due process.

but i want you to keep in mind that while Cheney/Rove/Bush were assembling their scheme to undermine America’s democracy it was part of the plan to demonize everyone and anyone (ala swiftboating. even Murtha!) who questioned or protested as “traitors” and “terrorist sympathizers”.
most Congressional Dems have been spineless cowards failing to speak out as the neoCONs shred the Constitution, more concerned with their public image than protecting the rights of Americans with Congressional power and oversight.

i fear it’s too late now. Diebold easily hacked voting machines are owned and operated by major GOP contributors and the gerrymandering of voting districts in favor of Republicans is so prevalent that the neoCONs may be a permanent rulership. our beloved Democracy may already be dead and buried.

R.I.P. America … Rest in Pieces.

Because he is the one that juiced the intelligence that had these people fooled. He is a war criminal and should be tried as such. 655,000 Iraqi dead, 2800 of our people dead, many, many more wounded and messed up for life all based on a lie, or actually several lies, when are you going to wake up and see this guy is the worst mass murderer of this century, and if it keeps going he will surpass all of them from last century.
